Sun Tzu’s quote regarding securing ourselves against defeat doesn’t just apply to war. It also applies to our emotional control, psychological balance, financial solvency, emergency preparation, and spiritual state of being on a daily basis.
So many of our problems in life are a direct result of our own negligence in not taking measures to construct the type of defenses—both internally and externally—that keep us safe . . . and undefeated.
Discipline, self-control, reflection, wisdom and forethought of the consequences resulting from our actions before we execute them are the structures and barriers securing us from defeat in life.
