Crowning Cougar

Being crowned the 13th Black Belt of the Karate Institute of America and the Kiado-Ryu is Genny “Cougar” Edge. Her ceremony took place in December of 1990. It’s hard to believe this was nearly two decades ago—a poignant reminder that both time and life march on. It seems like yesterday. Cougar was a great rock of support for everyone during that era. She was also, and continues to be, a great inspiration, receiving her 1st Dan rating at the age of 49.
