A Beautiful Karate Kid

This beautiful young lady is Juliette “JW” Williamson, Kiado-Ryu Black Belt #4. Taken in 1985, before she received her First Dan Black Belt in December, this photo illustrates JW’s enormous success in competitive martial arts. And these are just a sampling of the truckload of trophies she acquired during her remarkable karate experience! Juliette began her studies at the Karate Institute of America when she was 8 years old. She was, without a doubt, the most driven young woman in Kiado-Ryu history. By the time she was 12, she had already achieved an adult Black Belt rating, completing a program that contains over twice as much information and material as the youth program in which other young people of her age group were involved. JW was a daily presence at the KIA. She worked diligently on her basic material from level to level, practiced her competitive forms and became the number one assistant instructor in the youth division. Juliette was as wonderful a person as she was a competitor, giving the KIA many cherished memories.
