Playing the “dummy” role for Doc during his self-defense demo is Colin “Semi” Lee, KIA Black Belt #5 [1988]. The other young man is Jason “JB” Brown, the 15th Black Belt of the KIA.
Doc, always the intense perfectionist and consummate performer, was a great martial artist as well as a great world class diving champion. His championship titles include the NCAA Diving Champion and the Swiss Diving Champion.
Doc received his 1st Dan rating on 25 April 1992, becoming the 20th Black Belt in the history of the Karate Institute of America.
