Flash's Trucker Remembrance

It is with deep and profound sorrow that I announce to you that our dear friend and martial arts brother, Bob “Trucker” MacFarlane, has passed on.

As a final update to our remembrance, we would like to share another condolence we received. Following this week, we will post a page honoring Trucker.

Bob,

Thank you for your guidance and encouragement you gave me as I was climbing the ranks to Black Belt at the KIA.

You are truly a man of integrity and loyalty.

We will all miss the gift of your life…until we meet on the other side.

Your friend and Black Belt Brother,

Clark “Flash” Hyman

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am” (John 14:1-3).

Rest in Peace: Bob “Trucker” MacFarlane

Rest in Peace: Bob “Trucker” MacFarlane

This group photo was taken on 26 February 2013, during a group workout session honoring Bob upon notification of his cancer. He is located in the white gi (uniform) in the middle row. How fortunate that we were able to share this last workout with our dear friend and martial arts brother. Bob was a true gentleman of the highest caliber, a 1st class individual who was an inspiration to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with his entire family, especially his wife Gail, sons Matt and Jason, and daughter Andrea.

In the immortal words of the great poet Alfred Lord Tennyson from his poem “In Memoriam” …

I hold it true, whate’er befall;
I feel it, when I sorrow most;
‘Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.
