Warrior's Clan: Then & Now

Who are these cuties?

Who are these cuties?

If there is one thing in this world that is certain it is that time marches on and we all get older. The photo with the two cuties above was taken in August of 2009. Pictured are Sofia “Cannon” Dale and brother Jake “Achilles” Dale, the children of Green Belt Annette “Warrior” Dale.

In the photo below we see these very focused and talented dynamos doing kicking drills during The Karate Institute of America’s Kids Power Self-Defense Workshop on 7 November 2010, Sunday. Notice how intense each of them is. Obviously, the acorn didn’t fall far from the Warrior tree!

This speaks for itself. The two cuties of 2009 have grown into two beauties in 2018!

And, of course, we can’t forget mom with son, Jake.

Over the Holiday, Mr. King, Warrior, Cannon and Achilles got together to catch up on life. My-o-my how these awesome kids have grown up. Cannon is a Freshman in college and Achilles plays water polo for his high school. Such beautiful smiles.

But no “Catch-up” meeting would be appropriate without doing some martial arts, of course! In the following sequence Cannon puts an arm lock and subsequent choke hold (next pic) on Mr. King with Achilles taking notes.

Ouch! Cannon is one strong female! Achilles, in fact, looks very concerned for Mr. King’s safety, as well he should be!

And to reminisce a little, here is one of the most memorable and adorable photos in KIA history. Achilles, age 4, fell asleep watching his mom during karate class in 2007. So sweet!

And celebrating her achievement with her family: Dr. Allen Carden, Denise Carden (mom) and grandmother.

The Karate Institute of America is grateful to be able to follow the lives of Warrior, Cannon and Achilles. We wish them great success, health and happiness in their future lives. They have been a wonderful part of the KIA family.
