Thank God for guns. Without them, people would be enslaved by other people who not only have guns but who possess a boundless appetite for power, dominance and rulership over others. History is replete with cases of tyrants subjugating and enslaving unarmed defenseless citizens. In truth, those who relinquish their guns, relinquish their freedom.
As First President of the United States of America, George Washington—Father of our Country and Commander in Chief of the colonial armies who defeated the British Empire in the American Revolution—aptly, clearly, and forcefully stated:
A free people ought not only be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.
Underscore “their own government.” Also underscore “George Washington.”
Obviously, Washington clearly understood the evil in this world and every man’s right to protect himself from it and the enslavement such evil generates.
In Chinese, the word “fu” translates as a blessing, good luck and good fortune. Therefore, having the God-given right to own firearms is a blessing, hence the phrase, “Gun Fu.” Kiado-Ryu philosophy totally supports the Gun Fu principle without apology, mitigation or resignation.
George Washington was not alone in his sentiments. As the author of the Declaration of Independence and 3rd President of the United States, Thomas Jefferson unambiguously declared:
No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.
Richard Henry Lee was a Signer of the Declaration of Independence. He poignantly remarked:
To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of people always posses arms and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them.
Our Founding Fathers understood the relationship between freedom and slavery. The ability of the common citizenry to possess guns and ammunition is critical to ensure that freedom is centric to America’s ethos of every citizen’s right to be free, sans oppression by those who are saturated with a dictatorial mindset and unabashed hunger and thirst for power and domination over others.
America’s Founding Fathers were true visionaries, quite unlike many so-called visionless leaders and educators of today who neither care for individual freedom and personal sovereignty or who are simply too ignorant to understand it or too evil to support it.
The Declaration of Independence is the greatest document in the recorded history of mankind because it is a Declaration of Individual Freedom and Personal Sovereignty. It is under assault by those souls whose obvious mission is to destroy it and everything it stands for.
The First Amendment to the United States Constitution states:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
“The First Amendment guarantees freedoms concerning religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition. It forbids Congress from both promoting one religion over others and also restricting an individual’s religious practices. It guarantees freedom of expression by prohibiting Congress from restricting the press or the rights of individuals to speak freely. It also guarantees the right of citizens to assemble peaceably and to petition their government.” ( Ref)
The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution states:
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
“In the 2008 case District of Columbia v. Heller, the Supreme Court held that the “Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home.” ( Ref)
Common sound sense. That’s what the 1st and 2nd Amendment reflect. Furthermore, it is the 2nd Amendment that guarantees the 1st, for without a means to defend oneself, one’s religious beliefs and free expression, such divine rights could not manifest.
Martial Arts inherently involve self-defense. Firearms are one aspect of self-defense. It is the ability to defend oneself from tyranny and oppression that generates freedom.
Guns, as self-defense tools, are, therefore, a major critical component of freedom and individual sovereignty. For obvious reasons, as this article has opined, guns and ammunition must never be separated from the American way of life and its ethos of freedom for all men. Once the guns are gone, freedom is gone and enslavement by dictatorial autocracy shall rule the day and the future. Therefore, the resounding clarion call of all freedom loving souls is … thank God for guns!
