This young lady is tough, determined and unstoppable. Bet on it! In fact, she dislocated her sensei’s right jaw while sparring! Just look at the photo above, especially her eyes. She’s absolutely zeroed in while blasting “Bob” in his left jaw and enjoying every bit of it, with glee! In fact, since she began her martial arts training at the Karate Institute of America in Southern California she has never moved her eyes off target when fighting, not once, ever. It’s amazing! What guys can say that?
Trixie is her callsign. It fits perfectly. She’s deceptive, evasive and treacherous. The note to remember is “beware of her or you’ll be the next dude who ends up on the floor.” Trixie, indeed, is not only a trickster but also an extremely competent martial artist.

This is fun and very cute. It’s a photo of her as a little girl … and one with ambitions! Too, who is that cute little guy next to her? Ah! It’s Aidan, aka Smasher! Who would have known that these little kids would both be martial artists one day.

Smasher & Trixie: Karate Institute of America cuties
It’s Amazing how much these two young people have grown throughout the years. They have both become Brown Belts. Although they’re just friends, they are still both close to becoming Karate Institute of America Black Belts—an extremely amazing and difficult accomplishment for each of them. And “Thank you” Aidan, aka Smasher, for being a great person and taking the time in your busy life to share in Trixie’s KIA journey.
During her test, we asked Anthony, her boyfriend, if he wouldn’t mind having Trixie share a few forearm shots to his chest. Of course, as a gentleman, he granted the request. How were those armbars, Anthony?
Hannah’s 1ˢᵗ Degree Brown Belt test went very well. In success and respect for her hard work and effort, she, as other KIA individuals, go through the passing of the torch from one belt level to another. This is the success for what has passed and what will pass in the future.
